XL Rear Bicycle Fender for SKS GERMANY X-Tra Dry

The SKS Germany X-Tra Dry XL Quickrelease Rear Fender is the big brother to the iconic X-Tra Dry QR fender, developed in the 1980s. This classic-looking fender provides just the right amount of crud protection, giving your bike an extra-cool vibe for your next adventure.

The rear fender features one angle of adjustability to work with different frame geometries, and a quick-release (cam-style) seatpost mount allows you to install and remove it quickly without tools. It's designed to provide optimum coverage for 29er or 27.5 Plus bikes, with a maximum tire width of 2.5 inches.

Measuring 470mm in length and weighing 162 grams, the seatpost mount is compatible with seatpost diameters up to 35mm. Matching front fenders are available as a Shockboard XL or Mud-X Downtube Fender.

SKS Germany is a quality manufacturer in the bicycle industry, with over 100 years of history. The company began in 1921 when Karl Scheffer-Klute of Sundern, Germany started manufacturing curtain rods. In 1932, the company was purchased by Wilhelm Blome, who also purchased a tire inflator company, inspiring him to begin manufacturing metal pumps.

SKS Germany employs 400 people at their bicycle headquarters in Sundern, and over 700 employees across their three combined divisions. 43% of their bicycle business is through aftermarket product sales, while 32% is OEM product. Annually, SKS Germany produces 4.5 million full fenders, 2 million clip-on fenders, and 1.2 million bicycle pumps, totaling over 18,000 fenders per day and 3,200 pumps per day.

In 2022, SKS revamped their classic full fender line, replacing the Chromoplastic Longboard and Commuter II with the new Bluemels and Bluemels Style fenders. Both models are made using the same chromoplastic fender material, but the Bluemels now come with black hardware and are available in more sizes than before. The Bluemels Style fenders feature a square profile design, double U Stay technology, a matte black finish, and a sleek, flexible spoiler on the front and rear fender.
